I'm glad you're here!
I appreciate you popping in to find out more about me. I’m a writer, crafter, educator, musician, geek, and fiercely creative person. I find myself fascinated by puzzles, geometric shapes, patterns, nature and human behavior. I primarily write for children, but I have a couple of essays you might like on Medium. I also wrote and illustrated a picture book app called I Don’t Like Pink! which was published by the now-defunct PicPocket Books.
I am a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. In 2016, I graduated with a Master of Arts in Teaching from Salem College. My master’s thesis won the 2016 Marsh Writing Award from Kappa Delta Pi.
I'm an experienced educator, and hold a Professional Educator's License in the state of North Carolina. I'm licensed to teach high school math, general special education K-12, elementary K-6, and reading specialist K-12.
Since childhood, I’ve been known as a bookworm. If I’m not crafting, writing or working with students, I’m usually reading. I have a Little Free Library in my front yard, and enjoy discovering and sharing new reads.
