Tutoring

Experienced, Caring and Licensed Educator

Welcome! If you are looking for someone to help your student succeed academically, you've come to the right place!

With more than nine years of experience in the classroom from early elementary through high school, I'm eager to work with you to improve educational outcomes. My goal is to help your learner fully understand academic content and how it will open doors in life, ensuring better grades and higher confidence in school and beyond.

I am licensed in K-6 Elementary Education, K-12 Special Education, K-12 Reading Specialist and Secondary Mathematics.  I earned a Master's of Arts in Teaching from Salem College, a Bachelor's degree from N.C. State, and I've worked with students from ages 5 through 18+, helping them achieve their learning goals. For several years I have specialized in interventions for students with mild disabilities, including ADD/ADHD, autism, and learning disabilities like dyslexia. Therefore, I am ready and qualified to work with your family on:

What other parents are saying:

"Mrs. Jones has captivated my daughter in a way that very few teachers have.   As any parent of a neurodiverse student will tell you, it is rare to find a professional with the creativity and flexibility to work with autistic students.  Mrs. Jones provides not only tutoring in core curriculum, but enrichment that leads to a richer understanding and engagement.  We are thankful for the opportunity to work with Mrs. Jones!"

"You're making a difference and I'm so thankful for you!"

"My daughter, who is shy and doesn't like math, said Mrs. Jones was a good teacher and that she really liked her personality -- that she was kind and light-hearted."

"I highly recommend Brooks for her exceptional tutoring services. Her creative approach to crafting individualized activities has made learning an engaging and enjoyable experience for my daughter and her flexible scheduling accommodates our needs. Above all, her genuine care for her students shines through in every session."

I am also an approved vendor for North Carolina families of students with disabilities who are receiving assistance through the Education Student Accounts (ESA+) Program. That means if approved, you can use state funds to pay for my tutoring services! Click here for more information and instructions on how to apply for the ESA+ Scholarship.

I work with students enrolled in a variety of educational settings, including homeschool, public school, charter school and private school, and am happy to work with your child's teacher to address concerns if desired.

I look for ways to make learning fun as well as relevant for your student. Please contact me today to find out how I can start helping your student realize academic SUCCESS! I look forward to meeting you.
